Welcome to the South Gallia High School/Middle School webpage. South Gallia High School/Middle School serves roughly 330 seventh through twelfth graders of the Gallia County Local School District. The 2011-2012 school year will be the third year in our new facility.
South Gallia High School/Middle School is a wonderful place to teach and learn. A great contributor to a school’s greatness is strong support from parents and guardians, school personnel, district administration and the board of education. A collaborative effort among all the constituents is critical to our advancement.
As you browse the pages of this website, you will notice the wealth of opportunities offered to our students. I encourage students to take advantage of the possibilities and become involved in the extracurricular activities that interest them. When students become involved in sports, music, drama, and school sponsored clubs, scholastic achievement often improves. Becoming involved teaches our students to budget their time, keeps them involved in productive activities, and holds them in structured, supervised settings with school aged peers with similar values and goals.
We are fortunate enough to provide our students with a 21stCentury Learning Community program called S.T.E.P.S. This grant funded after school program allows students to receive tutoring and to participate in a variety of enrichment activities. Included at the bottom of this page is the three month calendar of events for the South Gallia High School S.T.E.P.S Program. We encourage you to enroll your student in this after school program. Not only do we provide tutoring/intervention, but we provide students with an after school snack AND transportation home.
